Before You Ask, Read This
Everything Travellers Usually Want to Know
Over the years, the same handful of questions come up again and again — before a booking, halfway through planning an itinerary, and sometimes even mid-trip. Rather than making every traveller ask individually, we’ve collected the most common ones here, grouped by topic, with honest, specific answers rather than vague reassurances.
This page is deliberately more detailed than the short FAQ sections you’ll find on our other pages. If you’re comparing tour operators, deciding between packages, or simply want to understand exactly what you’re booking before you commit, this is the page to read properly. And if your question genuinely isn’t covered here, our team is always reachable directly through the Contact Us page.
We’ve organised the questions below into seven categories, each covering a different part of the planning and travel process — from general questions about who we are, through the practical details of booking and payment, right down to the kind of everyday travel tips you’d normally only get from a local friend rather than a tour brochure. Use the quick links just below to jump straight to the category most relevant to you, or simply scroll through if you’d rather read the whole page in order.
General Questions
We’re a locally run travel service based in Vrindavan, Mathura district, Uttar Pradesh, specialising in darshan tours, private taxis and hotel bookings across Braj Bhoomi and onward pilgrimage destinations across North India. Our team is made up of Braj residents rather than an outside operator running trips remotely.
We’ve been running local taxi and darshan tour services since 2021, growing from a small group of local drivers into a full pilgrimage travel service covering tours, taxis, hotel bookings and special darshan assistance.
We cover the full Braj circuit — Mathura, Vrindavan, Govardhan, Barsana, Nandgaon and Gokul — along with onward trips to Agra, Ayodhya, Varanasi, Haridwar, Rishikesh, Rajasthan and other destinations across India.
Yes. While many of our travellers are families or groups, we regularly plan trips for solo travellers as well, adjusting vehicle choice and pacing to suit a single traveller’s budget and preferences.
Yes, every driver on our roster is a resident of the Braj region, familiar with temple timings, local etiquette, and the quickest, safest routes between sites — more of a guide than simply a driver.
Yes, our booking and support team is reachable seven days a week, including festival periods such as Janmashtami and Holi, when demand is at its highest and advance booking matters most.
Of course. Most travellers call or WhatsApp us with questions well before they’re ready to commit to a date, and we’re happy to talk through options, suggest an itinerary, or simply answer questions with no obligation to book.
We regularly plan trips for international visitors as well as domestic travellers, and can advise on practical details like currency, connectivity and what to expect as a first-time visitor to Braj Bhoomi specifically.
Booking & Payments
Call or WhatsApp us, or use the enquiry form on our Destinations, Tour Packages or Taxi Service pages. Share your dates, group size and rough plan, and we’ll respond with an itemised quote, usually within the hour.
We recommend booking at least 2–3 days ahead during the regular season, and 1–2 weeks ahead during festivals like Holi and Janmashtami, when both vehicles and hotels fill up quickly.
We accept UPI, cash, card and NEFT bank transfer, with details shared once your itinerary and quote are confirmed. Full payment details are always agreed before your trip begins, not left ambiguous.
This depends on the package and vehicle type — some bookings require a partial advance to confirm the vehicle and driver, with the balance settled at the start or end of the trip. We’ll always be upfront about which applies to your booking.
Cancellations made with reasonable notice are generally eligible for a refund, minus any non-recoverable costs such as advance hotel deposits. Our full Refund & Cancellation Policy, linked from our Pages directory, sets out the exact notice periods and percentages.
Yes, our support team is reachable throughout your trip and can accommodate reasonable changes — an extra stop, a later start, or an extended day — subject to vehicle and driver availability.
Yes, we can share a written quote and payment receipt for every booking on request, useful for travellers who need it for expense records or reimbursement.
Tour Packages
Most packages include a private AC vehicle, an experienced driver-guide, tolls and parking, and a planned darshan schedule built around temple aarti timings. Multi-day packages also include hotel stays where relevant.
Yes. While we offer structured packages such as the Same Day Vrindavan Tour or the 7-Day Braj Chaurasi Kos Yatra for convenience, we regularly build fully custom itineraries around a traveller’s own dates, destinations and group size.
Most first-timers choose our 2 Days Mathura Vrindavan Tour — enough time for the main temples and an evening aarti, without an overly packed schedule. If you have three days, adding Govardhan and Barsana extends this into a fuller Braj circuit.
Both options are available. Devotees who prefer to walk the roughly 21-kilometre circuit can do so, with our vehicle following behind for support and rest stops; others can complete it comfortably by car.
Yes, we offer onward packages to Agra, Ayodhya, Varanasi, Haridwar, Rishikesh and Rajasthan, which can be combined with your Braj darshan into a single longer itinerary.
Yes, we regularly work with religious societies, resident welfare associations and corporate groups, assigning a single point of coordination for the entire group booking rather than juggling multiple separate vendors.
Taxi Service
Our fleet includes Sedans and Ertigas for small families, SUVs and Innova Crystas for extra comfort on longer routes, and Tempo Travellers for larger groups of twelve to seventeen passengers.
Yes, we handle pickup and drop from Delhi, Agra and Jaipur airports, and from Mathura Junction railway station, timed to your flight or train schedule with adjustments made for delays.
Yes, every quote we give includes the vehicle, driver, tolls and parking, so there are no surprise charges waiting at the end of your trip.
Yes, our Outstation One-Way Taxi service covers a single drop to Agra, Delhi, Jaipur or nearby cities, without requiring you to pay for a return journey you don’t need.
We track your arrival details where possible and adjust the pickup time accordingly at no extra charge, so a delay on your end does not disrupt your onward itinerary.
Hotel Booking
We work with budget, deluxe and premium hotels close to the main temples, matched to your budget and travel dates. Most reputable hotels in Vrindavan serve pure vegetarian food, in keeping with the town’s religious character.
Rooms fill up fast during Janmashtami and Holi, so booking at least two to three weeks ahead during these periods is strongly advised; during the rest of the year, a few days’ notice is usually enough.
Yes, most of our partner hotels can arrange ground-floor rooms on request — it’s worth confirming this at the time of booking rather than assuming it will be available on arrival.
It depends on the package — multi-day itineraries typically include hotel stays as standard, while single-day packages are usually transport-only unless you request accommodation separately.
VIP & Special Darshan
No, and we’re deliberately cautious about this. Special or VIP darshan categories, fees and booking rules are set entirely by each temple’s own management or trust, and these can change without notice, including temporary suspensions during peak seasons. We describe our service as “VIP / Special Darshan Assistance” rather than “guaranteed,” because access itself always remains subject to the temple’s own policy on the day of your visit.
Temples known for offering special categories include Tirumala Venkateswara Temple (Special Entry Darshan), Mahakaleshwar Jyotirlinga Temple (Shigra Darshan and Bhasma Aarti), Kashi Vishwanath (Sugam Darshan), and several others — our VIP Darshan Assistance page has a fuller list.
We help plan your travel around the temple’s current special darshan process, share what we know about the current rules, and assist with logistics — but the booking and eligibility itself is always governed by the temple authority, not by us.
Practical Travel Tips
Modest, loose clothing that covers shoulders and knees is expected for both men and women. Comfortable, easily removable footwear helps too, since shoes come off before entering most temple premises.
Vrindavan sees a large volume of pilgrim traffic, including many solo travellers, and is generally considered safe, particularly in well-trafficked areas during daylight hours. Standard precautions apply, and a pre-arranged taxi is safer than unmarked transport after dark.
October to March offers the most comfortable weather for temple visits and walking tours. April to June is considerably hotter, and July to September brings the monsoon along with festival season, including Janmashtami.
Yes, particularly around Nidhivan and Seva Kunj, where monkeys are accustomed to snatching food, sunglasses and loose items from visitors. Keep valuables secured and avoid carrying food openly.
Yes. Most temples in Vrindavan, including ISKCON’s Krishna-Balaram Mandir and Prem Mandir, warmly welcome visitors of all backgrounds. A small number of very traditional temples may restrict entry at certain inner sanctums, clearly signed where it applies.
